Use this field-friendly sequence (always verify with project drawings and local code):

  1. Layout & elevations: Map the run, outlets, and low points. If using continuous slope, confirm start/finish elevations to maintain hydraulic grade.
  2. Excavation & base: Excavate for channel depth and encasement. Compact the sub-base and place a stable bedding layer.
  3. Set channels: Start at the outlet; follow numbered channels for correct slope sequence. Check line and grade frequently.
  4. Join & align: Seat joints to keep the internal invert smooth; verify grate seats align along the edge rails.
  5. Concrete backfill: Place evenly on both sides to the specified thickness. Re-check elevation to prevent float or twist.
  6. Grates & locks: Fit grates using DrainLok or QuickLok®. Ensure anti-shunt lugs engage along the run.
  7. Finish surfaces: Bring surrounding pavement flush to the rails. Perform a water test and clean the line of debris.
