The Mat
Built to Perform in the Most Demanding Environments
The XtremeMat HDPE composite mat system is engineered for extreme conditions, delivering exceptional strength, durability, and load distribution. It is purpose-built for use as ground protection mats, access road mats, construction mats, heavy equipment mats, rig mats, and crane mats — an ideal solution for heavy-duty industrial work across construction, energy, utilities, mining, and infrastructure projects.
Each mat measures 14'2" long by 7'5" wide with a usable area of 91.13 ft², weighs 860 lbs, and connects to the next with a galvanized overlap/underlap bolt assembly that sits flush with the surface for a smooth, stable travel path.
The Difference
Solid Core, Lightest, Strongest
Unlike other matting systems on the market, the XtremeMat is manufactured as a single-piece, solid-core HDPE structure. Advanced manufacturing produces an exceptionally lightweight yet high-strength mat — a combination that sets it apart on every jobsite.
Sealed Against Contamination
The only solid-core HDPE composite mat in the industry. Its closed structure gives the mat a natural "memory" to rebound after heavy traffic, and its solid surface cannot be breached — keeping fluids, soils, and contaminants out of the core and preventing cross-site transfer.
Best Strength-to-Weight
91.13 ft² of usable surface at just 860 lbs per mat — the lightest heavy-duty mat in its class. Faster deployment, easier on-site mobility, and safer installation, with roughly 50 mats per U.S. truckload to cut freight costs and trips.
828 PSI Load Rating
Independently tested to withstand compressive loads up to 828 psi — about 28% stronger than comparable mats. It performs confidently under the most demanding industrial and high-load access applications, project after project.

Features
Engineered for Heavy Industrial Duty
The XtremeMat is designed to create temporary, portable structures capable of supporting heavy industrial equipment. Each feature is built to deliver the performance and specifications the toughest sites demand.
Solid Core
A proprietary HDPE-filled internal core delivers exceptional compressive strength while preventing absorption of foreign contaminants, ensuring clean, safe re-mobilization between sites.
High Compressional Rating
Rated at 828 psi, the solid-core construction exceeds typical competitor ratings of 600 psi for dependable performance in the most demanding heavy-duty applications.
Lightweight to Transport
At 860 lbs, the lightest heavy-duty HDPE mat available — easier on-site handling, faster deployment, and roughly 50 mats per U.S. truckload.
Quick & Easy Connectors
A patented self-cleaning bolt assembly makes fast, secure connections without extra tools — even in snow, ice, or mud — and sits flush to eliminate tripping hazards.
Multi-Configuration
Perpendicular, offset, or staggered installation options let crews adapt to changing site conditions and optimize efficiency and workflow.
Self-Aligning Install
Integrated self-aligning tabs and alignment rods guide mats into place quickly so fastening pockets line up for fast, secure bolt connections in any condition.
Buoyant
Linked together in soft or swamp-like conditions, the mats form a stable floating surface capable of supporting the passage of heavy industrial equipment.
Eliminates Cross-Contamination
The solid, HDPE-filled core does not absorb fluids or trap organic material. Once cleaned and disinfected, mats can be safely re-mobilized to the next site.
Safety Color & Anti-Slip
A high-visibility safety-yellow surface defines a clean travel path, and the textured finish grips foot traffic and equipment in wet, muddy, or winter conditions.
Extreme Temperature Range
Proven from −58°F to 140°F under normal operating conditions, making it suitable for use in most regions worldwide.
100% Recyclable
Made from high-quality virgin HDPE resins for long service life; at end of life the material is fully recyclable where programs are available.
Serialized & UV Resistant
Each mat carries a unique embedded serial number for inventory control, and UV stabilizers protect against light-induced degradation to extend service life.
Static-Dissipative and Field-Repairable
Conductive additives blended into the HDPE let static charges dissipate safely, reducing the risk of static buildup during operation. And because the mat is a homogeneous HDPE structure, damaged panels can be restored in the field with an optional HDPE welding tool and matching spool material — keeping mats in service and out of the landfill.
On average, fatigue testing indicates an expected service life exceeding 15 years under normal operating conditions.
Accessories
Connectors, Ramps, and Handling Tools
A full range of accessory items is available on request — from replacement connectors and installation components to transition ramps and handling equipment.
Bolt Connection
Patented high-strength galvanized assembly with a coarse-thread, self-cleaning design that displaces mud and ice, staying secure under heavy loads.
Transition Ramp Support
Optional support beneath the overlap edge increases bearing capacity so heavy loads can travel on and off the mats from any direction. 80 in long, 55 lbs.
Installation Tools
Pry bars and a T-handle wrench assembly. Two operators align the connection pockets, then torque the bolt connector to fasten adjacent mats.
Hydraulic Mat Grapple
An attachment for excavators, telehandlers, and boom lifts that stacks, positions, transports, and installs mats — improving safety and productivity.

Questions
FAQ
How is the XtremeMat manufactured?
It's produced with a proprietary rotational molding (rotomolding) process using some of the largest molding machines in the industry, allowing precise control of material distribution and wall thickness.
The result is a large, heavy-duty HDPE mat with a one-piece, solid plastic internal core — giving it exceptional structural integrity and industry-leading strength.
What makes it different from competitor mats?
Each XtremeMat is a single, continuous HDPE structure with an integral solid core — unlike competitive designs that rely on seamed, two-piece construction with hollow or honeycomb cores.
That one-piece design delivers greater structural strength and load capacity, and because there are no internal voids, the core cannot absorb fluids or trap debris even if the surface is compromised — eliminating internal contamination and cross-site transfer.
What is the compressional load of the XtremeMat?
It's rated to withstand a compressive load of 828 psi (56 kg/cm²). In controlled testing the mat has been subjected to loads approaching nearly twice this rated capacity without structural failure, showing only minimal surface deformation.
This strength comes from the fully filled, closed-cell HDPE core with no void spaces — a homogeneous, one-piece structure that enhances load distribution and overall strength.
Can the XtremeMat be used on a drilling rig site?
Yes. Common uses include temporary working platforms, access roads, and base layers on drilling rig sites.
As with other composite matting systems, when used as a base layer beneath a drilling rig, rigid rig mats are still required to meet engineering and load-distribution requirements and are typically installed on top of the XtremeMats for added stability. The XtremeMat's solid-core load capacity generally exceeds the engineered minimum for base-layer support.
Does it fit into a standard shipping container?
Yes. Each mat is 14.25 ft long, 7.5 ft wide, and 4 in thick. A standard 40-foot container typically holds up to 40 mats, and a 20-foot container carries about 20 — allowing efficient, cost-effective shipping.
Can the XtremeMat be repaired if damaged?
Yes. An optional HDPE welding tool with matching HDPE spool material is available for seam welding or patch repairs. It requires minimal training and is designed for efficient, in-field repairs that quickly restore damaged mats to service.
How does it perform in extreme temperatures?
XtremeMats are rated to operate from −58°F to 140°F (−50°C to 60°C) while maintaining their full 828 psi compressive bearing capacity — the highest rating in its class among comparable matting systems.
