EnviroSoxx Pollutant Filter Sock
Pollutant Removal — EnviroSoxx stops pollutants from leaving your site.
EnviroSoxx® is the most versatile and cost-effective filter for stormwater pollutant removal. A passive filtration system ready to install on any site, EnviroSoxx targets the most common pollutants in stormwater runoff, particularly in urban watersheds, sensitive receiving waters, and Total Maximum Daily Load – TMDL (§303d) listed water bodies.
Industrial Blend
Designed to address heavy metals, hydrocarbons, nutrients, and pH balance.
Advanced Blend
Designed to target bacteria, nutrients, hydrocarbons, and select metals.
Guide
A Practical Guide to EnviroSoxx Pollutant Filter Socks
EnviroSoxx is the pollutant-removal member of the Filtrexx Soxx family. It uses the same mesh-wrapped, filter-media-filled sock as Filtrexx SiltSoxx — but the media is engineered with additives that capture specific pollutants, not just sediment, as stormwater passes through.
That makes it a fit for sites where simply trapping soil isn't enough — where runoff carries heavy metals, hydrocarbons, nutrients, or bacteria that need to be filtered before the water leaves the property or reaches a sensitive water body.
How Passive Pollutant Filtration Works
EnviroSoxx is a passive filtration system — no pumps, power, or moving parts. You place the sock where runoff naturally flows, and the water does the work.
Flow-through, not damming
Runoff slows, ponds slightly, and passes through the media rather than over the top — that contact time is what does the filtering.
Targeted capture
Media additives are chosen for the pollutants on your site, binding metals, hydrocarbons, nutrients, or bacteria while sediment filters out too.
Install anywhere
A self-contained sock drops into the same spots as a standard silt sock — perimeters, inlets, ditches, check dams — with no trenching.
Stack & combine
Stake in place, stack for added height, and pair with other BMPs as part of a complete site sediment-and-pollutant plan.
Industrial Blend vs. Advanced Blend
EnviroSoxx comes in two media blends. Both filter sediment; the difference is which dissolved pollutants the media is tuned to capture. Match the blend to the contaminants of concern on your site.
Industrial Blend
Metals, hydrocarbons & pH
- Heavy metals
- Hydrocarbons
- Nutrients
- pH balance
Advanced Blend
Bacteria, nutrients & select metals
- Bacteria
- Nutrients
- Hydrocarbons
- Select metals
Both blends come in 8" and 12" diameters and in continuous rolls or pre-segmented configurations, so you can match diameter to flow volume and choose the length format that suits your layout.
Where EnviroSoxx Is Used
EnviroSoxx installs in the same positions as a standard silt sock, but is chosen wherever pollutant removal — not just sediment control — is the goal.
- Inlet protection — around storm drains and curb inlets to filter runoff before it enters the system.
- Perimeter control — along downgradient boundaries as a pollutant-removing silt-fence alternative.
- Check dams — in ditches, swales, and channels to slow flow and filter pollutants.
- Sensitive receiving waters — near urban watersheds and TMDL (§303d) listed water bodies.
For sediment-only control without pollutant additives, the standard Filtrexx SiltSoxx line is the companion product.
