Pressure Tank Cover · Insulated Fiberglass · 4 Sizes

An above-ground pressure tank is exposed to the same freezes and sun as the wellhead beside it. This pressure tank cover encloses the tank, and in the larger sizes the wellhead and pump with it, under a layered fiberglass shell with a closed-cell urethane foam core. It comes in four sizes, from small pressure tanks up to full wellhead-and-tank installs, all finished in a 20-mil pigmented gelcoat that never needs painting.

Overview

Shelter the Tank and Everything Around It.

This pressure tank cover drops over an above-ground pressure tank and protects it from freeze damage, UV, and the everyday abuse of being out in the yard. A layered fiberglass shell wrapped around a closed-cell urethane foam core (approximately R-7) holds equipment heat in, and a 20-mil pigmented gelcoat means the color you order is the color that lasts — no painting, ever.

Pick the size that fits your setup: the smaller covers handle a small pressure tank on its own, while the larger sizes enclose the tank together with the wellhead and pump. Snap-tight construction means no fasteners are required for routine service — lift it off, check the tank, set it back down. No anchoring hardware is needed for normal use.

Why Contractors Specify It

Freeze Protection That Holds Up Outdoors

Freeze protection

A closed-cell urethane foam core (~R-7) shields the pressure tank and wellhead through cold snaps from the southern Carolinas to the upper Midwest.

Snap-tight, no fasteners

The cover lifts off and sets back on for routine service — no bolts or hardware to manage in the field.

Gelcoat that lasts

A 20-mil pigmented gelcoat resists UV and weather and never needs painting — stackable for distributor freight efficiency.

FAQ

Common Questions

What size pressure tank cover do I need?
Measure the length, width, and height of the tank plus any wellhead, pump, or plumbing next to it, then add a few inches of clearance. The Small Standard (18″ L × 18″ W × 22″ H) covers a small pressure tank, single wellhead, or compact pump. The Small-Medium Standard (33″ L × 22″ W × 24″ H) fits a wellhead plus a small tank or dual-line setup. The Medium Standard (40″ L × 35″ W × 38″ H) handles a full wellhead-and-tank install, and the Large Standard (58″ L × 34″ W × 44″ H) covers larger wellhead, tank, and pump groupings.
Will it cover the wellhead and pump too?
Yes, in the right size. The Small-Medium, Medium, and Large Standard covers are built to enclose the tank together with the wellhead and pump. All four sizes fit 4″ to 12″ casing diameters as standard, with custom configurations available on request.
How does it keep the tank from freezing?
The shell is a layered fiberglass exterior over a closed-cell urethane foam core (about R-7). That insulation traps ground and equipment heat around the tank and wellhead, protecting against freeze damage across a wide climate range.
Does the cover need to be painted or anchored?
No painting — the color is a 20-mil pigmented gelcoat molded into the shell. For routine installs no fasteners are required; the snap-tight design lifts off for service and sets back down. Anchoring kits can be added where high wind or tampering is a concern.
