Decorative Well Pipe Cover · Hand-Finished Fiberglass · 5 Sizes

Well pipe has to finish above grade, which leaves a casing, riser, and pitless adapter standing in the middle of the lawn. This decorative well pipe cover encloses all of it inside a hand-finished fiberglass formation with a natural stone texture — the pipe is shielded from sun, weather, and the string trimmer, and the yard reads as landscaping instead of utility. Five sizes, starting with two compact cut-style profiles built for pipe-only installs.

Decorative Well Pipe Cover

Cover the Pipe Without Putting a Box in the Yard

Code requires well pipe to terminate above grade, so the casing, riser, and pitless adapter stay exposed for the life of the well. A decorative pipe cover encloses that assembly inside a hand-finished fiberglass formation with a natural stone texture — the pipe stays protected and reachable, and the lawn reads as landscaping. Five sizes, including two compact cut-style profiles sized for pipe-only installs.

The Problem With Exposed Pipe

What Happens to Well Pipe Left in the Open

An exposed riser takes damage from three directions, and none of them announce themselves until something fails.

Sun degrades PVC and any exposed fittings over years of direct exposure. Mowers and string trimmers chip, crack, and eventually shear what they clip, usually at the base where a repair means digging. And anything above grade is a target — kids, deliveries, a backing trailer. A cover takes the pipe out of all three paths while keeping it fully accessible: the shell lifts off by hand, so a service call is no slower than it was with the pipe in the open.

Why This One

Protection That Doesn't Look Like Protection

Physical shield

Keeps mowers, trimmers, and foot traffic off the casing and riser — the damage that turns a sound well into an excavation.

Blocks direct sun

Shades PVC, fittings, and wiring from the UV exposure that embrittles plastic over a well's service life.

Reads as landscape

The stone profile sits in beds and borders as a boulder, which is why it clears HOA and commercial aesthetic requirements a plain enclosure won't.

Pipe-Only Installs

Start With a Cut-Style Profile

When the only thing above grade is the casing and riser — no tank, no above-ground pump — the two cut-style sizes are the efficient choice. They are tall enough to clear a riser and narrow enough to sit in a bed without dominating it.

  • 16″ × 16″ × 25″ for a wellhead or compact pitless adapter
  • 19″ × 19″ × 32″ for a taller riser or small backflow
  • Step up to a formation once a tank or pump shares the pad

Built to Stay Outside

Hand-Laid Fiberglass, Color Molded In

The shell is hand-laid fiberglass laminate — the same construction used across the Piedmont well cover line — with a UV-stabilized pigmented gelcoat that is part of the shell rather than a coat of paint on it. Nothing to chalk, nothing to peel, nothing to repaint in five years.

  • Hand-laid fiberglass laminate shell
  • Tonal gelcoat varied like quarried stone

FAQ

Common Questions

How do I size a cover for just the pipe?
Measure from finished grade to the top of the highest fitting — not just the pipe — then add clearance so the shell isn't resting on anything. For a bare casing and riser, one of the two cut-style sizes usually fits. If a pressure tank or above-ground pump shares the pad, size to the whole group instead.
Can I still get to the well for service?
Yes. The cover isn't fastened down on a routine install — it lifts off by hand, so a technician gets the same access as an uncovered pipe. Nothing to unbolt and no panel to remove.
Does it keep the pipe from freezing?
A decorative cover blocks wind, sun, and precipitation but has no insulation — it's built for appearance and physical protection. If frozen lines are the concern, an insulated fiberglass well cover adds a closed-cell urethane foam core at roughly R-7 and is the better choice in hard-freeze climates.
Will it fade or need painting?
No. The pigment is in a UV-stabilized gelcoat molded into the fiberglass rather than painted on, so there's no coating to chalk or peel and nothing to touch up.
Will it stay put in wind?
Weight and profile hold it on a typical install. For exposed or coastal sites, or anywhere tampering is a concern, an anchor kit is available to secure it to the ground.
