Our geotextile fabric for driveway stabilization is made from 100%  Polypropylene. It is made to resist ultraviolet light deterioration, and is inert to commonly encountered soil chemicals. The fabric will not rot or mildew, is non-biodegradable, and is resistant to damage from insects and rodents. The fabric is a high strength and dimensionally stable woven fabric that will reduce gravel migration and provide protection against rutting. As a result, there is less maintenance required and a better driving surface as well as a more attractive driveway.

Our fabrics come in a variety of widths and lengths. The shortest length roll being 27’ and the longest 432’ with widths that vary from 12.5’ to 17.5’. We have a roll size that will meet your project needs.

Installing The Fabric: The tools and materials needed to install this fabric:

• The rolls of fabric.
• Have scissors or a sharp knife to cut the fabric.
• The gravel or other chosen material for the driveway.
• Stakes or staples for securing the fabric in place.
• A rake to level the surface.

Steps For Installation:

Prepare the site by removing all debris, rocks, and vegetation. Level the surface to create a base for the fabric. The surface should be as level as possible, if you need help bring someone in to help out.

Lay down the fabric by rolling out the fabric across the prepared subgrade. Overlap the edges of the fabric strips by 6 inches to prevent gaps. Secure the fabric using stakes or garden staples paying close attention to secure the edges and overlaps.

Add the gravel or other driveway material. After you have laid down and secured the fabric, spread the gravel or other material over it. The thickness of the layer will depend on the material used, in general, it should be 2 inches or more in thickness.

Compact the material using a compactor to press the material into the fabric. This step will give you a firm, stable surface that should not shift or settle unevenly.

Important Reminders: Make sure the fabric is laid out smoothly and taut against the ground. Be sure there are no wrinkles or folds that will create an uneven surface. Extend the fabric to the full length and width of the future driveway to ensure it's completely covered.
